Captain Chris Burris
Captain Burris has been a dedicated member of our dept for five years and contributes a wealth of knowledge, expertise and comic relief. Recently, Burris earned his Bachelor's degree in Fire & Emergency Management. In addition, Cpt. Burris was named WRAL's Hometown Hero of the week! Thank you for your service!
Firefighter of the Year:
Lt. Macy Gunter
We are honored to announce this hard-working firefighter has been promoted to Lieutenant's rank! Lt. Gunter has been a member of Carolina Trace FD for 4 years. Always a motivated self-starter, Gunter has taken on training our Junior firefighter team, providing them with job training and mentorship. We appreciate all that you do!
Rookie of the Year:
Daulton Henry
In less than a year, Firefighter Daulton Henry has made himself an integral part of our team and is always happy to help. He's working hard to finish his firefighter certification, on top of being a new dad. Thank you for all you do!
Junior Firefighter

Steven Maples
Jr. Firefighter Steven Maples certainly is dedicated to getting his training hours towards becoming a full member of the dept. Maples. In the year he's been with us, he's shown an eagerness to learn and a willingness to help in any way he can. Congrats and thank you!
